Thanks for the reply, will do :)
I was so excited last night that I forgot to suggest a very important update for this tutorial. I had completed the steps but was still not getting the frames. Some debugging showed me that the captureOutput(_:didOutputSampleBuffer:from) function was not being called. It seems that this…
This is so descriptive and beautifully written. You deserve the praise these comments are giving. You got me where I need to be to implement a project I’ve been studying for half of this past year to finally be able to write. I will share with you when I have completed it. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this!
Very nice solution to make your own colour palettes. I was looking to make only one custom colour for my app. It was a dark green colour and instead of calling a function to return the required

Fantastic solution! Nicely flexible, extendable and reusable too. I’d always been frustrated with the range and selection of ‘quick’ colours available in XCode, and this has completely eliminated that problem. Many thanks for sharing!
I had switched to Mojave and the above wonderful code stopped working. There are some fixes that will be recommended by Xcode editor (and you need to make them), however there is one critical (not suggested by Xcode), without which you get no video — declaration of captureOutput. With the below one the app works again!
