Overview

The Crocker was designated as a forest reserve in 1968 and later as a National Park in 1984. She covers an area of approximately 140,000 hectares. Trekkers will find themselves surrounded by primary forest, in which crystal clear rivers run through and a myriad of flora and fauna can be found. Trekking in the rainforest is not all about being able to see wildlife. Wildlife as the name suggests are animals that are shy and sensitive. The moment they see or sense humans, they will shy away. However, sometimes, a chance encounter is highly possible.

Itinerary

Day One Kota Kinabalu

Pick from airport upon arrival and proceed to hotel for check in, thereafter free and easy for own pursuits. Overnight at Kota Kinabalu city hotel.

Day Two Kota Kinabalu — Crocker Range

Pick up from the hotel and transfer by road to the foothills of the Crocker Range Forest Reserve. Stop at the designated starting point where a short briefing will be conducted, thereafter participate in a ritual to appease the spirits of the rainforest will be held. Commence your trekking adventure. Assist in preparing meals and enjoy the serenity of the forest. Overnight under the stars — camping (sleeping in hammocks).

Day Three Crocker Range

Waking up to the sound of the singing birds, help with preparing breakfast. Re-convene your walk slowly, perhaps a chance encounter with wildlife a possibility, otherwise enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the rainforest. Overnight under the stars and enjoy the sound of the jungle orchestra.

Day Four Crocker Range — Tempurung Seaside Lodge

Out of the rainforest and transfer by road to where Tempurung Seaside Lodge welcomes you with luxurious nature facilities, of course nothing compares to the 5 star hotels in the city. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the pristine sea between rest and savor your meals served in the open sided restaurant and bar built adjacent to the beach on a hill slope.
