Nice to see Arundhati Roy’s The God Of Small Things in your list. Arundhati is a marvellous wordsmith. Oh, there’s Karl Ove Knausgaard’s My Struggle. I’ve read first three volumes of it; he has magic in his writing. I’ve read Interpreter of Maladies. Not bad, but there is that MFAish thing in her writing. I tried to read Wolf Hall, but historical fiction is not my kind of thing.

I’m actually trying to assess the range and taste of your reading, Lisa Renee. Pretty impressive.

But, considering your taste, I wonder why you didn’t include Don DeLillo’s Underworld, the epic novel that was published in 1997. And what about Thomas Pynchon who had an important novel out just in 2013? I think you have forgotten about them.
