Personally, for me, seeking external validation is normal because, honestly, no one cares about your work at first. They will just care if you’re making a living out of it or if it’s really cool and that usually happens at the very later stage of what you’re doing. My way of stopping myself from asking other people “who’s a good boy” is watching motivational speeches on YouTube.
