The NeuroChain technology is based on three pillars:
- A decision maker : A Chain of Bots
- A set of rules : the Decision Protocol (Proof of Involvement and Integrity)
- A network or media : the Pragmatic Decision Channel (adaptive communication channel)
A Bot is a short hand for a robot. In the current context, it is an Artificial Intelligence acting independently on a specific node in a network. They work thanks to machine learning algorithms on top of a protocol and a network. Their key aspects is that they work in association: a chain of Bots distributed in the network.
An important aspect of a Bot is that it is “placed” on a node. Its characteristics are tunable, a bit like the opinion of a citizen. However, the extent of its customization is both related to the machine learning and the use-cases on which it is devoted. They act as validators of transactions and communicate between each other so as to guarantee security, transparency and decentralized infrastructure issues (e.g., double spending problem, byzantine generals problem, etc.). The way it communicates with other nodes is made possible thanks to the underlying protocol. A protocol is description of the ways two Bots will communicate between each other. The decision protocol is founded on two mathematical tools: the Proof of Involvement and the proof of Integrity. Therefore, the proof of involvement retraces the effort realized by this specific Bot on the network. This effort is measured by the entropy and the enthalpy (amount of value) it holds. The idea is that an important Bot answer to important needs, and is therefore heavily charged. The proof of integrity describes how reliable this Bot is.
The network structure is crucial. The pragmatic decision channel takes advantage of all the theories applied to economics. Current decentralized networks are still in their infancy. They believe in the ‘homo economicus’, i.e., all information is available instantaneously, and every actors act rationally. This simplistic vision does not take into consideration the vast complexity of an ecosystem or an economy. However, current networks do behave this way. The Pragmatic network aims at limiting the bandwidth usage of the smart application running on top of it, while taking advantage of proxy Bots working rationally (Machine Learning Algorithms) on the network.
Altogether the set of Bots working independently act as members of a decentralized ecosystem of decision making. Thus, the system benefits of the advantages of a collective and collaborative intelligence. While the system does not prevent manipulation or installation of malicious bots, the dynamic system put in place, thanks to the Decision Protocol, quickly, and automatically, place in disgrace the malicious Bot (score of integrity).
To summarize, NeuroChain is a new technology based on distributed infrastructure such as a Blockchain and new consensus (Proof of Involvement and Integrity). The Machine learning algorithms allow quick and adaptive answers to human old problems. The AI property of the Bots grant independence of action. The Decision protocol enforces the law of good behavior and the network guarantees efficient usage of computation and bandwidth resources. The Bots greatly increase transaction processing and validation. The NeuroChain allows a new wave of Blockchain and the true unleashing of decentralized and disintermediated economy.
