Bill Gates Writes to Graduating Class of 2017, recommending a career in AI
Bill Gates is perhaps one of the most dominant names when it comes to technology. He is whom most of the CS students would look up to.
As the Class of 2017 in most of the universities and colleges around the world graduate in this season, the man behind Microsoft, took up to his personal blog Gates’ Notes and here’s what he had to say.
Gates mentions how he and Paul Allen were lucky enough to be not only a part of the digital revolution that initiated while he was in his early 20s, young and energetic, perhaps even rebellious, but also to be one of the greatest influences of that digital revolution.
In his heartfelt letter to the fresh graduates, Bill Gates recommends them to pursue a career in either of the three emerging fields to create an impact on mankind. And guess what? One of them is Artificial Intelligence.
Artificial intelligence has opened new gateways for utilization of technology to be more productive with each passing day. Be it Apple’s Siri, Tesla’s self-driving cars or Facebook Messenger’s chatbots, AI has just begun to make its hallmark in the avenue of easing our lives.
It won’t take long for AI to take over tasks that are otherwise done by humans. AI’s applications in Internet of Things will be catalytic in easing our lives.
So, all those who have a penchant for technology and want to build a career in it, AI is one of the domain that even Bill Gates recommends.
