An Ode to Cupcakes, on Cupcake Day

What does a cupcake mean to you, really?

aren’t we all just / cupcake babies underneath / an adult facade
In this great big world
who’s really got the time for
enormous portions?
the tinier the better
the more darling the more dear.
In a stressful day
if you aren’t a puppy
do you still get treats?
you can savor human food
probably made by fairies.
In a drab moment
couldn’t everybody use
more rainbow sprinkles?
you can hold a work of art
and devour it with a friend.
