JibJab Adds Cards on iOS
Today we released version 3.0 of JibJab’s mobile app on iOS.
In addition to the existing GIFs, stickers and emoji the app has always had, this update adds the eCards found on JibJab.com. However, since it is 2015, we decided to drop the “e” and just call it cards :).
I’m very proud of this release. There were a lot of technical hurdles. The biggest of which was taking the library of content on JibJab.com, which is Flash based, and create a native rendering and playback solution on iOS.
This release also marks the beginning of mobile monetization for JibJab’s full card library. A subscription initiated in the iOS app or on the web will provide access to the same premium cards in both places. The app’s existing GIFs, stickers, emoji, etc… will continue to be free.
