Personal Branding. Why, how, what.

We live in a time where everything is accelerated due to the internet. So can you slow someone down and get them to notice you? Through a well-crafted personal brand. Let’s get into it.

So why is it important? It’s important, because this is how the world will see you. It’s your first chance to make a lasting impression, which is becoming extremely important in our fast-paced society. It will allow you to set yourself apart from your competition whoever that may be. On top that, you can attract/find people who want to be successful each and similar to you. This is how you build strong teams. So that’s a brief overview of WHY.

Now how? Through social, through blogs, through your personal website. Here’s the kicker: you MUST be CONSISTENT in your message. Every time. You can’t have ulterior motives. You have to be genuine and consistent. Create content that surrounds who you are and the mission you are trying to accomplish. Now maybe the most important piece.

You should cater the DELIVERY of your message to your audience, but you should not cater the CONTENT/DELIVERABLE to your audience.

How can you majorly screw it up? Inconsistency is hands down the answer. Lying or not standing by what you believe in. It’s okay to change your opinion if you genuinely feel different, but you can’t change your message just because someone disagrees with you. You should cater the DELIVERY of your message to your audience, but you should not cater the CONTENT/DELIVERABLE to your audience. You should be respectfully of other’s, but be you and stand by that. Last but not least, just continuously post valuable content. Don’t just randomly fall off and take month or longer hiatuses. If you haven’t noticed, it is all about the consistency. You’re now ready to create your personal brand. Get after it.
