I agree with the general sentiment… having multiple tools in your tool box to be able to use the right solution at the right time is an absolute must! Many times certain technologies are absolute overkill for the problem they are used to solve. And just because you can solve a problem with a particular tool does not always mean you should. And while you presented it purely in financial reasons, there are many other reasons to move to a microservices architecture. Financial and technological flexibility only being a small piece of the puzzle.
