The sole fact that he listed San Antonio as a preferred destination completely disqualifies the entire idea of this article. I don’t care if he lands there and starts putting up 50pts a game, Kawhi will always be “the guy” in San Antonio because of the culture that team has created and he is a historically great two way player, and could still get even better.

In Minnesota I don’t think he’s “the guy” either. They have three guys there who are “the guy” in that situation. Although I think Towns is on his way to that position if he keeps progressing like he has.

Even on the Knicks I still think they build around Porzingis as the centerpiece and Kyrie as the secondary option.

The only place where he’s “the guy” is Miami…and i think he only listed Miami as a shot against LeBron

So he still wants to go from one super team to another in my opinion.

Really he’s doing this because LeBron has a pretty clear history of skipping town as soon as he feels his team is starting to slip. That’s how it was when he left Cleveland and that’s how it was when he left Miami. As soon as he realized he wasn’t going to win titles he left town for a situation that was better for him. LeBron basically forced this team to mortgage it’s future for him (because he doesn’t give a flying fuck about the teams future)to win now. Which means when he leaves Cleveland again (and he will) there will be absolutely no future there for Kyrie to build anything because they have zero draft picks. He’s really just following the lead LeBron has showed him. As soon as you know your situation is going to get worse…leave and find a better situation for yourself and YOUR future.
