I’ve tried many a smart stylus, but had my best luck using the iPad as a digital notepad with a dumb stylus.

I don’t do a lot of “inking” (handwritten notes) on iPad anymore, but prefer FiftyThree’s “Pencil” with Paper, and the Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus with Procreate and Autodesk Sketchbook. I’m really hoping that the iPad Pro + Pencil is stable, fast and accurate. It does seem like a niche product that digital artists will adore and everyone else will sort of quizzically mock.
