I think it’s more risky though don’t you? Suppose those 3 seconds go by, or you simply forget this method-as I do-and start reacting to the circumstances of the scene? I may be emotively guided to my next action, but it’s too late for me to have any responsibility towards the character; it’s all just reactions that I don’t have the perspective to qualify. Unless I’ve gotten very skilled at this inner work…Until then, I think it’s more comforting to be on the back line and think up “ooo, I’ll keep a look out for my next scene, but whenever that will be, I’d have fun being the guy who‘s accepted that he ‘sucks at thumbwrestling’” Or whatever the fancy may be…
