The military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine has led to the West imposing massive sanctions against the Russian government and economy. European states now refuse to export Russian raw materials and products, and have stopped using the services of companies located in the aggressor’s country. Russian banks have already been disconnected from the SWIFT system.

In the near future, this will also affect the sphere of IPTV/OTT equipment. For example, European users of Russian-made TVIP set-top boxes may be “cut off” from the firmware update servers, which will affect the stable operation of the devices. In addition, the owners of such devices will be unable to obtain technical support from the manufacturer. All of this will greatly complicate the use of their TV set-top box.

Buyers of IPTV set-top boxes from Formuler’s distributor in the USA may also face similar problems. The company is likely to be affected by Western sanctions due to the fact that one of its investors is a Russian citizen, Vitaly Kulimov.

Please note that by purchasing devices from Russian manufacturers, buyers invest in its economy and army, contributing to military and criminal activities in the territory of Ukraine.
