DES announces the Branche platform

Digital Escrow Services is happy to announce Branche, our decentralized financial services platform.

At its most fundamental, Branche is a mobile app that provides basic financial services like cheque cashing and short term loans in a new and incredibly accessible way.

Until now, financial services could only be offered by specialized brick-and-mortar business’ like banks or payday loan stores. However, the technological advances of the last decade have allowed us to create a new option: one that will allow any small business, individual or community organization to become a basic financial services provider and earn fees on every transaction they process, with little more than a mobile device and an internet connection. We call these service providers Vendors.

We are often asked: why is such a system even needed? The truth is, most of us take our banking services for granted. Yet in the United states and Canada, an estimated 28% of adults have inadequate access to banking services, or no access at all. These “underbanked” people may not be able to open a bank account, or have an account but be limited by factors like distance, operating hours, or socioeconomic circumstance.

By making it dramatically easier to provide basic financial services, Branche in turn makes it dramatically easier for the general population to access such services. Not only that, Branche makes it more affordable, more flexible, more dignified, and more secure.

This decentralized approach applies to all aspects of the Branche platform. We are not only providing powerful new services for our end Clients, or a new revenue stream for our Vendors, but an opportunity for members of the general public to make a return by becoming the providers of the liquidity that Vendors access to process transactions for Clients. We call this group of people Lenders.

Branche will use cutting edge blockchain and security technologies to bring together our Clients, Vendors, and Lenders to insure a mutually beneficial experience, and the improvement of all their financial lives.
