I’m so so sorry this happened. I’ve also cried (a lot) in the past over medical bills and I fervently hope the second half of the year goes better than the first half for you. I know your medical billing situation is resolved, but in case anyone else out there reads this and finds themselves in a similar situation, I just wanna say that it’s always worth talking to the financial hardship office at the hospital. I’ve had friends learn that their bill could be significantly reduced because of their low-income level or that monthly payments could be arranged. I myself once took about 6 months to pay off an $800 medical bill by setting up an arrangement with a hospital. So, fellow readers of The Billfold, please don’t be shy about making that call.
