For “Mindset Monday” today, I just want to tell you to find the line between sticking to a model and individualizing your workout and nutrition strategies.

Let me explain this a little by way of example.

Let’s say you decide you want to really start making progress toward your fitness goals, so you hit the internet to find the “best” plans. You choose a 3 day weightlifting plan and a high protein, moderate calorie eating strategy. The workout plan has videos demonstrating the exercises and the nutrition plan provides recipes.

Now, you need to ask yourself: does this really fit me? Does the person deadlifting in the video have a similar body to mine in terms of bone length and overall mass? Do I like the foods in these recipes?

Listen, the bottom line is that there are things that work for every single person. Things like strength training and calorie deficits. And you should stick to those. But then, you make it your own. You don’t modify the core tenents of the program, you just individualize it to make sure it works best for you!

Sticking with the same example above, take the workout plan and dont change the exercises provided. Just google search until you find a video of someone similar body-wise to yourself demonstrating the exercises. With the food, take the strategy but make your own recipes or quick meals that you know you will both prepare and enjoy enough to eat.

Find the line. Stick to the basics that work for everyone, and modify them to fit your life.

And if you need help, message me!
