I’m with Rusty. The message I get from this article and many like it is: follow our guidelines if you want to support us, or don’t support us at all. I could be wrong, but that’s what I gather. The article says the trans community is also allied with other marginalized groups. Do they subscribe to the content from every group and share it? I’m guessing not because that is incredibly hard to do. Put another way — if you consider yourself to be a SJW and hold yourself to the standards laid out in this article you’d have to search for and consume content from every marginalized group: LGBTQ, blacks, Muslims, women, Latinos, mentally ill, etc., and make sure you share it with the world. I’m sorry but some cis people are struggling to make ends meet with all of their time devoted to work and their family. They support your cause and will speak out when abhorrent remarks or actions are taken, but you’d rather they not because they don’t follow your rules. You need allies in the fight for your cause. When Muslims or blacks are marginalized and people speak out, I’ve never once seen an article explaining that people need to essentially adopt their culture if they want to support them. I’m on your side, let me support you how I can.
