It’s only been like forever since London Grammar released their debut album If You Wait back in 2013. I didn’t become aware of it myself until the late winter of 2015 (along with Daughter’s If You Leave). Well, the wait is only a few months longer as their sophomore album, Truth Is a Beautiful Thing drops this June. Below is a lyric video of the title track. Hannah Reed’s voice is as hypnotic and powerful as ever.
Local Heroes anthology — A Proud Moment
Local Heroes was a small anthology conceived, compiled and edited by yours truly. It is the first ever physical book to bear my byline on the cover and was published on November 22, 2011 by now defunct small press publisher Static Movement (with an assist by the also now defunct publisher Pill Hill Press and, of course, Amazon).
According to Rich Johnston over at Bleeding Cool, DC will be releasing a Jim Lee-honoring “Absolute” edition of his seminal WildC.A.T.s series in 2017, which marks the 25th anniversary of what was one of my absolute favorite comics co-created by one of my absolute favorite comics creators. The final storyline “The End of All Things” to close out the long-running series is currently being published by Skybound Entertainment/Image Comics.

The final pages of this story are some of the most heart-wrenching and surprisingly redemptive moments in Love and Rockets or in any other comics for that matter. As the war escalates between Dairytown and Hoppers, the cost for Hopper…
Recently, a friend who has quite the “celebrity crush” on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as both a world leader AND a heartthrob, shared a video by The Other 98% to her Facebook timeline that looked to balance the view of Mr. Trudeau with details about his desire to build three pipelines in his native land. Given the other details in the video, it was actually a bit unbalanced because it began with a list of positive things about Mr. Trudeau. Of course in recent months his profile has risen quite a bit if only because he’s said a lot…
Bob Thurber (Paperboy: A Dysfunctional Novel; Nothing but Trouble), one of the finest writers in the English language (and a personal acquaintance), has been a literary mentor of mine for over fifteen years now. I recently stumbled across some more sage writing advice from him over on his Goodreads page.
