Medium’s New Logo: A Review

When the logo changed I couldn’t find Medium on my phone. Went to the App Store to download it again and it said it was already installed. Back to the phone and COULD NOT FIND IT ANYWHERE. Eventually used iPhone search function and lo and behold, a strange-looking app with Medium’s name turned up.

As the CEO of a marketing agency, I regard the new logo as a fail. There is zero continuity from the old logo, and no attempt to bring stakeholders along for the ride. It’s not evolution, it’s revolution. It just breaks all the rules for a rebrand. big fail.
