My 5 Favorite Things Right Now — March

Adam Grant’s “Granted” email list.

Adam Grant is an author, TED speaker, and professor at Wharton. I think he sends his email once a week or bi-weekly to subscribers. I’m a huge fan of his work on Givers / Takers / Matchers and his emails give you even more articles on work, life, current social topics, and everything in between to check out. You can sign up for it here.

For saving my life on the scheduling of phone calls, meetups, etc. No more back and forth of scheduling perpetually asking “Does this time work for you?,” or “I can’t do that time, how about this time?” because now I can gloriously say “just schedule that here.” Everyone gets an automatic calendar invite, you can ask custom questions, and it spares your inbox the struggle. There is a paid and free version. You can sign up for it here.

The Skimm’s No Excuses on Immigration.

If you want to be more informed on the topic of immigration, the gals at The Skimm have compiled a great list of information on immigration reform, who the key players are, and the US Citizenship test. I’ve gone through the whole thing and feel more informed about arguments on both sides of the aisle. You can also sign up to get The Skimm daily in your inbox here.

Friday at 5:00 pm Yoga

The folks at Downtown Yoga in Augusta have a relax and restore candlelight yoga class on Friday afternoons that I swear pulls the plug on my brain. We do a variety of poses, and I always walk away feeling like my brain got an hour to calm down after a litany of overload from the week. It is $12 for drop in, $8 for veterans & first responders, and 10 class passes are $100. Their full schedule is here.

Coola Organic Cucumber SPF 30 Face Sunscreen

This came in my Birchbox this month, and I’ve already ordered a big bottle that will come with next month’s box (free shipping!). The cucumber smell isn’t overpowering like that cucumber melon lotion we all had in elementary school from Bath & Body Works. It goes on really easy and will be perfect for me as we get back outside after being cooped up all winter! You can order it here from Amazon if you’re not a Birchbox subscriber. (And if you’re not a Birchbox subscriber, you can sign up for that here.)
