
At the beginning of this year, I took a challenge. My January became Veganuary which hasn’t ended and I don’t think it will. Since then I have learned a lot about myself and the world.
How I’m I feeling right now? Just sorry I haven’t done this years ago.
I first seriously started thinking about a plant-based diet in July 2018 when I read Rich Roll’s autobiography. It was eye-opening, to say the least so he was basically my first inspiration to try it out. He’s an amazing athlete with an incredible story — he changed his life by simply switching to a plant-based diet and since then he’s been nothing less than an inspiration. …

There’s another topic that came into perspective along with Greta and climate change, and that’s sustainability. That’s because it is inevitably related to them. We have to live more sustainable lives if we want to take better care of our planet. Use a cotton bag instead of plastic one when you buy groceries, use public transport instead of your own car for short distances, eat less meat … Doing things that seem small but have a great impact on the planet.
And along with that comes the suggestion of buying less fast fashion as well.
But we need to ask ourselves: is fast fashion the real issue in terms of polluting the Earth or does the real problem lie in our buying habits? …

I lived in a place where it mattered what you wear. The brand of jeans, shoes, and schoolbag was really important. I taught that this was just me, my generation, but I’ve recently learned that’s not the case. We are all raised this way.
I think it starts when you still in the womb. Your mother wants to buy the best stroller on the market — the one that other chic mothers are pushing in front of them. Then it’s clothes, toys, etc. Before you know it, you’re bullied at kindergarten, school, and high school for not wearing “appropriate” outfit. Sounds familiar? …
