Seasonality is an issue that has not been considered. I live in the midwest and think there will be weather when nobody wants to be on a scooter.

Additionally, my city is crime ridden. Not the whole metro area, just the city — the only place these things make sense. The minute somebody figures out how to make a nickel by stealing them, the game is over. The loss rate will be astronomical and the police are not going to do much. Batteries have to be worth something to somebody. There is a reason people don’t leave valuables lying around unguarded.

I’m just not seeing it. Unit economics are not good enough to justify the financial risk. This seems like wishful thinking of California types. It’s probably an awesome area for certain cities in California. Detroit, Cleveland, St. Louis, Chicago, not so much.
