We’re all there right? It’s New Year’s Eve and we’re reflecting. Here we are, thinking back about all the things we’ve done in the last year. For some of us the list may be extensive. Maybe you got married, had a baby, started a business, got a promotion, lost 20 pounds, bought a puppy, ate healthy, read more, loved more, lived more.
Maybe your list sits in the same place it did last year because it’s unfinished. Your list this year looks remarkably similar to your hopes and dreams that are left untouched and you feel a bit defeated and slightly discouraged. Or Maybe this year was full of mistakes. You got divorced, yelled too much at your kids, worked longer hours than you should have, neglected your family, lost your job, gained 20 pounds, kicked a puppy, ate like crap, have mold growing on your book collection, lived selfishly, and overall ruined your relationships.
Maybe you wish you could have a do-over. A fresh start.
There is hope.

For many of us, that’s hard to believe. We think we’ve fallen to far, screwed up too much, or ignored God for too long for Him to care about giving us a fresh start. Maybe one of your resolutions was to read more scripture or prayer more and you fell flat. You feel like a prodigal son in the midst of slop. God’s love for us is beyond comprehension. His forgiveness is never-ending. His grace is deeper than oceans, and mercy new every day. We need only to trust in the gift Jesus offers us. He offers us a comeback. A fresh start. A return to hope and restoration.
The restoration is explored through stories of hope in Louie Giglio’s newest book The Comeback
. Beginning with Louie’s own struggles with anxiety, panic, and depression — Louie’s vulnerability is remarkably refreshing and hope giving. He invites us into a place with God that we so desperately need to experience. In the middle of our darkest moment we can feel as though the light is never going to break through. The Comeback reminds us that God is the light in the darkness, He is the hope for the hopeless, and He offers us The Comeback we have always dreamed of.
Get it. Read it. Live it.
Have you ever longed for a comeback? We all know what it feels like to have life disappoint us and not work out as we’d hoped. We all know what it’s like to long for something different, something better, something more. The Comeback celebrates new beginnings. It offers encouragement and perspective, and it’s for you if you feel frustrated or confused, if you’re sorrowing or in pain, if you’ve made mistakes or are grieving, if you’re disappointed or feel as though life doesn’t make sense. The good news is that God is in the business of giving fresh starts to people. He gives hope to the hopeless. Direction to the directionless. Help to those who need help. God is always good, all the time, and God’s plans will always prevail, even when our plans don’t. God already knows what the solutions are. No matter what kind of disappointment or grief or pain or trouble or heartache you encounter, God always offers a new beginning, a change of heart, or a powerful spiritual turnaround. God offers the way forward, and his pathways are always good. Your current circumstances will not get the final say in your life. God is the God of the comeback, no matter what kind of challenge you’re facing. And your story can become a great comeback story too.
