Nata Exam Eligibility, Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Every year thousands of students sit for the national level NATA exam ( https://brdsindia.com/nata-exam-preparation/ ) to pursue their dream of becoming Architecture. It is a national level exam that is conducted twice a year by Council of Architecture to render admission some of the prestigious and sought after colleges in India.

NATA Exam Eligibility
Students of class 12th who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to appear for the exam provided they have scored 50% marks in aggregate. Students who are at present appearing for class 12th can also give the exam but their result will be declared valid only when they have fulfilled the above criteria. Moreover, those who have done 10+3 diploma are also eligible to give the exam provided they had Mathematics as one of the subjects and scored 50% marks in aggregate. There is no age limit to give the paper. However, one is allowed to give the paper only 5 times since the date of the last scorecard. The paper is conducted twice a year and results are declared very frequently.

NATA Exam Pattern
It is a national level paper and before you appear for the paper it is important to understand the exam pattern. To start with it consists of two parts –Part 1 which consists of questions on Mathematics and General Aptitude. This section consists of 60 questions, 20 questions from Mathematics and 40 questions from General Aptitude. Part 2 is of Drawing and it consists of 2 questions of 40 marks each. Each question carries 2 marks. This means that section one is of 120 marks and section two is of 80 marks. The total paper is of 200 marks. The best part is that there is no negative marking in the paper, giving such a relief to the students.

The NATA syllabus is vast and it is suggested to seek support and guidance from the proper institute. Some of the important topics of NATA syllabus include topics like Algebra, Logarithms, Matrices, trigonometry, Theory of Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Permutation and Combination, Statistics and Probability and many more in Mathematics. Students are required to prepare thoroughly so that they can attempt the questions with ease. In General Aptitude questions related to reasoning both verbal and non-verbal, logical thinking, general awareness and topics of national and international importance. And part 2 is of drawing ability.
