A bit of blue sky thinking: what if a few brains (maybe ones with a particularly ethical way of thinking) were used as a form of moral encoding for AI systems? Could these brains be used to interpret the data and to suggest political or social narratives in which outcomes could be played out to people so that they could more easily understand the consequences of a particular action or behaviour? If people could evaluate consequences more quickly and effectively maybe they wouldn’t make so many mistakes and maybe this ability to evaluate would help to protect them from those with nefarious purposes…?
