Here’s a piece of advice shared by one of my friends on how to become more creative in your breaking:

Listen to different music.

After all, as he puts it:

Movement comes from music.

And the type of music you listen to will inspire the types of movements you create.

That’s why bboys are always on the constant lookout for new music to break to.

Simply because music is the fodder that feeds our inspiration to create new moves and movements.

And for many of you out there, you get your new music via the newest and latest bboy mixtapes.

I mean…

What better music to blast at your practice spot than an hour long mixtape consisting of hype songs that are well-mixed by a dope bboy DJ?

I know that feeling.

(Furthermore, you don’t lose that vibe and hype in a mixtape — it keeps going! You lose that continuity playing a list of full songs on iTunes or Spotify.)

And that’s why for the benefit of all of us, I’ve put together a MONSTROUS list of bboy mixtapes (with the help of my friend Ivan) that will get you all fired up for your next dance practice.

All you have to do is to select one from the list, hit ‘play’ and start practicing.
