A Year of Travel V — Gibraltar
Home to perhaps the most famous rock in the world, Gibraltar is a one-of-a-kind destination. Nestled below Spain’s southern border, this British territory offers as much natural beauty and epic history as can possibly be contained in 11,000 square miles. With its stunning coastline and bustling metro area, there’s no wonder this narrow peninsula’s control has been disputed throughout the ages. I wish I’d had more time to explore Gibraltar and get better footage. Unfortunately, I wound up in the hospital for much of my visit due to salmonella poisoning I contracted in Morocco.
