Anyone believing that the Indiana law was not intended to facilitate discrimination should tune in to the deliberations that took place while the bill was being debated, making its purpose abundantly clear to any objective observer. Unless one believes that the Indiana legislators that backed it were unschooled hicks (which is not true), it’s also abundantly clear that these legislators could easily have done in the first instance what, after being pummeled by the job creators, Governor Pence has now asked them to do in preventing businesses from using it to discriminate.
