Dear Sky,

You write about Amy Winehouse’s relationship with addiction, and how her attitude toward addiction is related to her descent into sickness and ultimately death. I would’ve liked to see analysis of the song, which can probably be put into conversation with Burroughs’s recovery experience. I wonder how the experiences of Winehouse and Burroughs, as a woman and a gay man, overlap in the rehab, treatment, and recovery processes? What kind of pressures do they receive, and how must they resist in order to remain themselves despite their need for medical attention?
