Is There Glory in Suffering
I have seen, heard, and been a part of the movement that says you have to suffer to get what you want, if you suffer more then you’ll be able to grow more, when you go to the extremes then you will learn faster and all sorts of things along this vein.
But the point I’m getting to lately is… Really? Do I have to suffer in order to learn faster?
Couldn’t there be a way where I can be comfortable and still get the things I want in life? Does it really have to suck?
I have seen this in myself from every sort of direction. Go through pain in the gym, go get uncomfortable to change your life, grind all day long or your business will fail, etc etc etc.
As much as I have grown from these types of lessons, from these types of experiences, I’m ready to enjoy myself while I still grow. I’m now starting an experiment where I’m going to be comfortable, where I’m going to create good things, and I’m still going to see if I grow at the same rate. I don’t believe I have to feel like shit in order to really know and feel the best way to grow.
I’m ready to let go of this other way of thinking that I’ve held onto for so long, and I’m ready to let go of the lessons I learned from my old teachers that I have outgrown.
It’s time for me to be me, and learn from me. I know my path best, and it’s time to be that path.
