Unless I missed something, Capt. Hendrix never implied the “Age of the Aircraft Carrier is Over” in this interview. Perhaps Mr. Gault over-sensationalized the title a bit much?

Even Capt Hendrix’s CNAS article argues merely that the airwing is “at risk” of becoming obsolete due to the retreat from range, not that that the age of the aircraft carrier is over. Those are two very different things. Presumably rectifying the airwing limitations will go a long way towards solving the problem.
