(Why We’re Failing) the Test of Civilization

Umair excellent read! Very grateful for your insights. “Now. What can we really from America? Not just that it has fallen — but more deeply, why it has. The truth is that you plus me is a far, far harder choice than you versus me, or you minus me. It requires of us humility, courage, wisdom, grace, defiance against our worse and lowest selves. It asks of us risk, uncertainty, discomfort, tension. It is hard and difficult work, coexistence, mutuality, reciprocity. It’s much easier to just believe someone just a little bit different from you is a lazy, dirty, filthy subhuman — and in that way, preserve your pride, vanity, and self-superiority, without lifting a finger, isn’’t it?”

We need to change the context of America and start teaching what it means to be a human being. This can be taught together with what is required for success.

Show children a way of having success that includes others. Not just for projects but for life!

This level of vulnerability would allow for a radical transformation in hearts and minds. The individual focus on success is killing us.
