How NOT to Text a Girl

Lessons from a Personal Experience

I have no clue about women. PERIOD. But in my two years of the single life, I have learned two valuable pieces of information. One: Get a life — do things. Two: If asking a girl out via text or even in person, ALWAYS ask her out with this phrase.

“Hey [insert name here]. I really enjoyed meeting you. I would love to take you out this week. When are you free?”

Obviously you can paraphrase however you wish but the key is asking “When are you free?” I can’t stress this enough! If she is interested, there is a 99.9% chance she will respond with a date and time she wants to go out with you.

Why is this so important, because let’s look at the alternative.

“Hey [insert name here]. I really enjoyed meeting you. I would love to take you out this week. Are you free Tuesday?”

“Hey Bret! — Actually I have plans Tuesday”

Now if she REALLY likes you, she might go “But I’m free [Insert some other day she is free].” But considering she probably just met you at bar, you’re already on the fence in her mind.

So the text conversation will probably end at:

“Hey Bret! — Actually I have plans Tuesday”

But you REALLY want to go out with her. She’s beautiful. You’re obsessed. Who wouldn’t want to go out with her? So you immediately type:

“Ok no worries! Are you free Wednesday?”

She reads your texts and even if she is free, she doesn’t know how to respond. She thinks,“Man this guy is desperate. Does he have a life?”

But she’s nice and genuine person. Unfortunately, she is actually busy Wednesday (she has a life) so she responds:

“Ah — I’m booked Wednesday too”

Daggers. Sucks for you.

You can’t contain yourself — you have to go out with her! You type:

“Ah — well let’s shoot for Friday” (You skip Thursday to make yourself appear busy)

She never responds.
