I’m seeing that there is a lot of variation in education system, both that existed before CC and has seemed to be exasperated by CC. Common core is a set of standards. The curriculums, teaching methods and grading is still left to the teacher and school districts to decide. There seems to be a lot of issues stemming from those areas.
That being said, I appreciate the viewpoints such as yours in highlighting areas where implementation is not going well. I hope to write more on the subject and take a fair look at where CC, which in theory is making progress, is failing in implementation.
