I’m sorry for being the other girl

This is a letter to you, the girl who was hurt at my expense. I’m sorry for being the other girl, I’m sorry he didn’t end up being everything you wanted him to be, in a way I’m writing this letter to myself as well as to you. He didn’t end up being who either of us expected him to be. We both invested years, trying, hoping, and wishing he would end up being the guy we dreamed about at night. Even when he was thousands of miles away, we were always so faithful…to the same guy…at the same time…while he was laying in bed with a pretty girl with long, tan skin, we were here missing him, longing for him, waiting patiently for the holidays just to embrace him…we loved him, and he used us, and for that I’m sorry.
