Amazingly informative and well-researched piece, Tim. Couldn’t agree more about the need to invest in infrastructure… roads, yes. Also energy networks and waterways to name a few of the most critical.
Let’s commit, though, to not just shoring up and rebuilding infrastructure with yesterday’s tech. Let’s think about roadways with new integrated sensors, advanced materials, modern lighting and other transformative capabilities… roads that actually generate energy and inductively charge EVs at the same time. Let’s build out distributed energy storage to make it a productive partner to the grid.
That kind of investment will create many new jobs, breathe life into new industries and present the foundation for the next 50 years of our economic growth.
