Over a 25-year career, Brian Gourley has invented and built multiple different technologies in the FinTech, PropTech, EdTech and now the MedTech space. In 2013 Brian founded Troubadour Capital, a hedge fund. Over the next 57 months, in addition to building a following and raising over $100mm from investors, he deployed “data monetization strategies" by using over 20 different proprietary pieces of software he invented that identified opportunity and depth from over 30 million data points. Over a 5-year-time- period his tracked and audited strategies outperformed the bond market by 300%. In 2020 Brian's life changed after his 6-year old son, Lucas, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After 90 days of failed treatments, Brian and his wife Erin combed the earth to find the most specialized doctor in this difficult-to-treat diagnosis which turned out to be at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Over the next 8 months Lucas was successfully treated at CHOP, and Brian started to learn how the medical system worked, thinking about how helpful a data-driven solution would be for parents struggling to find the top specialists in their child's diagnosis. Brian launched CureWheel in September 2021 to use his data skills to help families like Lucas' shorten the cycle of trauma and uncertainty after receiving a cancer diagnosis. He is the proud father of 3.
