I spent so much of my time trying to make myself smaller.
Sarah Joye Langford

I’ve had lupus since I was 8 years old. I’m 24 now. I’ve been on steroids that entire time. I’ve actually had doctor’s, medical professionals, laugh in my face and throw their arms out to their sides every time they say “because of your size”, with the space between their arms getting larger with every emphasis, when explaining to me why no one would take out my uterus or tie my tubes since getting pregnant will literally kill me. He’s wrong about no one being willing to do it, but he’s also an asshole for how he treated his patient. I definitely understand how you feel.
