Yes, you should keep writing.

You approach the art of storytelling from a uniquely different angle than anyone I’ve read on Medium.

Ignore the likes, reviews, and readership. Keep doing what you’re doing. Push the edges of fiction! Shape your own vision of genre using rhetorical devices you create.

Readers are sometimes unable or afraid to recognize or approach originality. It’s unknown. They want to read what they know. What’s comfortable. But in doing so they lose opportunities for growth.

Kerouac, Ginsberg, Burroughs, Calvino, Mailer, Pynchon, Ondaajte, Marquez, Neruda, cummings, bissett, Carver, Kelman, Koyczan to name a few. They all flexed the borders of genres differently. They all allowed us to observe and reflect in uncommon ways.

Isn’t that the writer’s real calling?
