The debate

I sat there inside

Myself

Thinking of all the failures

Hestitations

Reasons I wasn’t

There were things I’d been doing all along

Writing poetry

Dreaming

Painting

Love

And all of them seemed hidden

Or shrouded

In self doubt

For far too long

But of course

I couldn’t find a way to let them out

And so

A silent shouting match

Between my heart, soul and mind
