I’ve been contemplating doing the same and found this article in a search while I was wondering if other people had felt the same. I’m not currently looking for work, and my long term plan now is much more entrepreneurial; suffice it to say if things go the way I hope I won’t be looking for a job again. Given that in my experience most of the user base never actually signs in, there’s very little meaningful interaction on the platform and 95% of the messages I ever receive are people who clearly only wanted to connect to sell me something.

It becomes a time waster and something that I do only because it feels like an obligation. I’ve felt for a long time like I need to sign in simply because if I don’t it will make me look bad to have missed someone if they reached out to me, and it’d be simpler to delete it so I don’t need to worry about it. Your post is very reassuring that this is a good call.
