Thinking About Hillary — A Plea for Reason

Good piece. A few counter-points.

Trump gets hammered on his dishonesty by everyone but the most stubborn of the GOP. Over the year our reactions went from shocked amusement, to anger, to exasperation tinged with a little worry because it’s not over yet. If he’s “getting away with” calling her “Crooked Hilary,” what do you think should be done? Arrest him?

As for McCain, well, he’s still supporting Trump. Nuff sid. Everyone’s afraid to talk about McCain, because of his POW thing. But that guy lost all credibility a long time ago, so the fact that he is full of shit about something is no revelation.

There was plenty of talk on the left about W’s corruption. But not about Gore or Kerry, because they had no real scandals. They just looked soft compared to the Yale Cowboy. Hell, he started an illegal war under false pretenses. He’s obviously a war criminal and generally a piece of shit. There’s no double standard there. We all hate W. and would prefer to forget he ever existed. I’m sure many wish worse than that.

I’m likely going to vote for Hilary, but I am also very critical of her. My concern is not her speaking fees, but rather BILL’S speaking fees, while she was SoS. The links between actions she took in office, to Foundation donations, REEK of “pay to play.” This is nothing new, but some of this stuff was really nasty — Colombia, Haiti, Honduras…Exploitative and dirty, with real victims.

I think what irks people about Hilary is more about the Clintons being fishy as a UNIT, combined with America holding the Left to a higher moral and intellectual standard ALL THE TIME. The Clinton’s have so much dirt orbiting around them, but none of it seems to stick. They have quite a trail going back to Arkansas in the 70’s, and the phrase that always comes to mind with them is “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”

Just two days ago, a lawyer investigating DNC voter fraud supposedly committed suicide (in the middle of his investigation?) This kind of thing has been following the Clinton’s for over 30 years — not run of the mill corruption, but RAPE and MURDER. Name another politician in US history who has that kind of darkness following them. The number of plane crash and suicide victims associated with the Clintons does NOT abide normal statistics. It’s fucking weird, and where there’s smoke...

I think the sexism is real, but I also think being a woman has HELPED her, especially with blacks (she’s not another white male) and female voters over 30. Whether the conspiracy theories are true or not, she’s going to face a huge double standard as POTUS. Not because she’s a woman, but because she’s a Clinton. And because many feel we lost a chance to have a POTUS with with the purity of JFK. We saw the Dreamer get beaten by big money and a biased DNC. Hilary picked up DSW again, after she resigned. She hired the head of a rigged system who killed the Dream. That’s how people feel.

Last point — this was an excellent editorial with a bold claim and solid evidence to back it up. But I think you undermined its seriousness by using “fuck” too much. I enjoyed the humor and colorful language, but a piece of this quality deserves better than unnecessary f-bombs. Your writing is exceptional and should only wear the finest of threads.
