The Caucasian Invasion Of Racial Justice Spaces
The DiDi Delgado

Reverse racism does not exist. But POC sure can stereotype whites, and when it happens to well-intentioned people who are trying to make a difference when they could easily turn their head and move on, it is disheartening. “The whole idea of a stereotype is to simplify. Instead of going through the problem of all this great diversity - that it’s this or maybe that - you have just one large statement; it is this.” — Chinua Achebe.

Accountability is surely needed, and this article makes some excellent points, and paints some very true realities. Feeling entitled to compare SURJ to the KKK, even as a joke, is a reflection of a larger issue, a highly complex one at that, and one that we should not try to simplify through stereotypes of any kind. That is one example from the article, I could list many more that also reflect a lack of consideration for the complexity of these matters. Bottom line — elevate truth, do not compromise while doing so, do not protect the entitlement and comfort of the oppressor, pursue accountability especially for whites, but also do not stoop to their lowest levels in how we talk and write about entire people groups. Whiteness is a state of mind that affects all skin colors, as his love, dismissiveness, pride, hate, and entitlement.
