As an avid user and enthusiast in the mechanical keyboard community I helped co-organize the 2017 Chicago Mechanical Keyboard Community Meetup as part of the /r/mechanicalkeyboards subreddit. We held the meetup on Saturday 11 March 2017 at the Chicago Public Library Bucktown Wicker Park Meeting Room and were excited to have over 30 enthusiasts in attendance. If you’re interested in mechanical keyboards I highly suggest the nearly 160,000 member /r/mechanicalkeyboards subreddit community. If you’ve never used a mechanical keyboard before the first step is generally to purchase a switch tester to determine which type of switch feels and sounds the best to you.
