Life Drawing with Ronald Searle

Ronald Searle makes me want to draw. His retrospective scribbles of Toulouse Lautrec and the Whores of Hamburg endlessly inspire me.

“One day I decided what I would do would be a nineteenth century pastiche almost of Lautrec as a homage to Lautrec. Just for myself. Just to amuse me.”

Toulouse lautrec was a prolific French painter who overcame physical debilitation to be creator of new genres and a whole canon of work.

Any way here’s some of my drawings from an evening of Life Drawing where I’ve drawn Toulouse Lautrec and Ronald Searle with and around the life model. Just for myself. Just to amuse me.
