I Tried Every Side Item on Domino’s Menu and Here’s What Happened

It seems that every time you go to order something from one of these chain restaurants, there’s always some new side that is being pushed and you’re being told you must try. I understand the struggle of not being able to decide what to order, or sometimes you end up ordering something and it is horrible. I have decided to take it upon myself to make it easier on use all and taste every side order on Domino’s menu. I ranked every item, and this is how it turned out.

15. Boneless chicken: just don’t even bother ordering this item. You are better off throwing some frozen chicken tenders in the oven if plain chicken is what you desire (or stop at a chicken spot to pick up fresh chicken for around the same cost). This chicken wasn’t very flavorful, and was a bit mushy in texture. Not exactly what you want when ordering “crispy” chicken bites.

14. Plain wings: I don’t see the point in ordering plain wings, but if that’s your thing these weren’t awful, I just prefer more flavor. If someone in your house prefers plain wings be sure to ask for some buffalo or barbecue sauce on the side to add a little more pizzazz to this plain dish.

13. Spicy jalapeno pineapple specialty chicken: topped with sweet and spicy mango-habanero sauce, with mozzarella and cheddar, jalapeno and pineapple. These flavors did not blend well, I mean just think about it; cheese, habanero sauce and pineapple. The habanero sauce itself was not bad. I would recommend ordering it without pineapple if you want more cohesion in the flavors, or ask for pineapple on the side and decide for yourself.

12. Parmesan bread bites: these are little breadstick nuggets with a mound of parmesan cheese on top. Now, I am a huge cheese fan, don’t get me wrong on that, but the parmesan flavor on these bread bites were a little too overpowering. Dipping these bites into marinara sauce helped to subdue the extreme parmesan flavor, but there are better bread options than this one, and those ones are perfect as they are.

11. Sweet mango habanero wings: as I said before, the sauce was not bad, just not my favorite personally. The sweetness did compliment the heat well, but again, I think there are better options that I would prefer to order in the future.

10. BBQ wings: classic wings smothered in BBQ sauce, I’ll never say no to that. The sauce and wing combination is delicious, but you can order better BBQ wings elsewhere, and better side items that you can only get at Domino’s. So, if you’re in the mood for BBQ wings and Domino’s pizza I would recommend these, but if you’re just looking for a good wing, I would go elsewhere.

9. Hot wings: same as the recommendation for BBQ wings, not the best, not the worst. I prefer spicy wings, and the sauce was good, that’s why these are ranked higher.

8. Marbled cookie-brownie: you get 9 squares of a chocolate chip cookie-brownie mashup. I have a sweet tooth, so naturally I did enjoy these, but I feel that this is something you could easily make at home and it would be just as delicious. The best part was that the brownie was still a bit gooey and fudgy. Add some of your own ice cream on top of this and you wont be sorry.

7. Garlic bread twists: these look like little mini pretzel ties, and the buttery garlic sauce on top is not too overpowering, unlike the parmesan bites. Dip these babies into a dipping sauce of your choice to take away a little dryness from the bread and you’ve got yourself a nice little snack.

6. Sweet BBQ bacon specialty chicken: topped with BBQ sauce, mozzarella and cheddar cheese, and crispy bacon. These chicken bites were delicious, and unlike the plain chicken, the texture wasn’t too mushy and unappealing. The chicken was a bit crispier and was surprisingly pleasant with all of the toppings. The BBQ sauce pulled all of the flavors together nicely, and I could probably eat 2 order of these.

5. Cinnamon twists: these are the sweet version of the garlic twists, but with cinnamon sugar on top. There is a thick layer of that sweet topping, and I would personally drink a gallon of the icing that comes on the side with this dessert.

4. Stuffed cheesy bread with spinach and feta: these are a twist on the classic stuffed cheesy breadsticks, but with spinach and feta on the inside. The middle was creamy and overloaded with cheese. This was a delightfully created item the inside was so creamy and the top was a cheese lovers dream, while these were good, I still prefer the classic cheesy bread.

3. Stuffed cheesy bread with bacon and jalapeno: the bacon was super crispy and paired well with the jalapenos. The flavors were super simple in this side, yet very effective and delicious. They’re breadsticks, but have a similar feel to a calzone with the load of cheese and bacon and jalapenos stuffed inside. If you like a little bit of spice and smoky meat, and lots of cheese you need to try this.

2. Classic hot buffalo specialty chicken: this is made of the classic chicken bites with essentially a bottle of buffalo sauce, ranch and 3 cheeses on top. If you have ever wished that it was socially acceptable to shovel buffalo chicken dip into your mouth with a fork, then this is for you. Like I said, I am a fan of buffalo/hot wing flavor, so this may be biased, but the steaks are raised when you melt 3 cheeses on top with the perfect ratio of hot sauce and ranch.

1. Chocolate lava cake: call me basic if you want, but you have not lived until you’ve tried these. The order comes with 2 chocolate cakes with a chocolaty sauce in the middle. These are cooked for approximately 10 seconds in the oven, making them gooey and mouthwatering. If you are ordering for more than one person, you need to order more than one of these, you’re going to want to eat both cakes yourself.
