Where to get free java on National Coffee Day
On Sept. 29, coffee chains nation-wide will be partaking in the celebration of “National Coffee Day” by giving out free or significantly discounted cups of coffee to customers. Among the businesses giving away free coffee with no purchase necessary are Cinnabon, Krispy Kreme, Pilot Flying J, Tim Horton’s and Wawa. In addition, other coffee or coffee-providing chains will be offering discounts and promotions to mark the caffeine-centered occasion.
Singer of national anthem at Seahawks-Titans game takes a knee
Before the commencement of Sunday’s Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans football game, singer Meghan Linsey took a knee on the field during her rendition of the national anthem. Players were not present on the field during Linsey’s singing of the national anthem and did not arrive until its conclusion. Linsey received many applause for her choice to kneel-an action that has become a political symbol and area of controversy in regards to how many feel towards injustice facing the country currently.
National Parks offering free admission for 3 days this fall
In an effort to encourage more people to get outside and take advantage of their nationals parks, the National Park Service has issued 10 fee-free days in 2017, with many days still to come. For the fall season, three fee-free days are still upcoming: Sept. 30 for National Public Lands Day, and Nov. 11 and 12 in honor of Veteran’s Day. This promotion includes the 124 national parks that normally charge a fee in hopes to attract more visitors and allow nature-enthusiasts to enjoy the beauty of these parks during the fall foliage season free of charge.
