There’s No Such Thing As A Protest Vote
Clay Shirky

Couldn’t it also be possible that people casting a (so-called) protest vote are actually sending a message to other protesters, or possible protesters, and isn’t that worth something? After all, if the powers that be aren’t listening to my (so-called) protest vote, what makes you think they’re listening to my (actual) vote? And if presidential elections are always only a matter of choosing the lesser of two evils, then by comparison, my forcing you to do the work of deciding really isn’t that big a deal, is it?

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
