It’s interesting that Ryff’s model includes environmental mastery, which suggests a very anthropocene mindset, rather than thinking of humans as being nature, part of the ecological mesh. When you say that the current models of development are not grounded in theories of the nature of life, evolution or change, do you mean to suggest that we need to develop a model of growth that is grounded in an ecological epistemology? And do those ecological-human development models not already exist, but are just not mainstream?
